We have submitted the AtomPub hierarchy I-D to IETF for consideration along Standards Track. Although there is no working group looking at extensions to Atom or AtomPub, and there is not so good feeling about the future of AtomPub, there seems to be a very good use for Atom and AtomPub for document-oriented data.
