Are you Smart Enough?

Paul Graham says:

If you don’t think you’re smart enough to start a startup doing something technically difficult, just write enterprise software. Enterprise software companies aren’t technology companies, they’re sales companies, and sales depends mostly on effort.

I thought Paul Graham is always right. And I suppose this exception proves the rule!

There is a lot of smart people writing enterprise software. I know everyone likes to think that the world revolves around Web2.0, but how do you think your banks, insurance companies, hospitals, airlines, telephone companies make stuff work? Remember behind the advertising driven Web2.0 world, there are real goods and services being sold that pay the bill for those text and video ads.
